#1 The Boy Who Wrote About The Boy Who Lived

Welcome, fellow die hard Harry Potter fanatics, passive fans, and newcomers alike. I am glad to able to share this experience with you. Let me tell what this blog is about. The Harry Potter series has been a part of my life since I was 8 years old. I have always been an avid reader, and one day I went in to the library at my elementary school looking for a new book to read. I asked the librarian for any suggestions, and she pulled a book off of  a shelf, telling me that this was becoming quite popular among children. I remember seeing the cover for the first time; a boy on a broomstick, with a unicorn, a three-headed dog, and a castle in the background. I instantly fell in love with the artwork used for the books (well, the American versions anyway). I started reading Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone that day after school, and was instantly hooked. The Chamber of Secrets and Prisoner of Azkaban were released not long after and I devoured them as well. Like many others, I dreamt of receiving a parchment letter with emerald-green ink, announcing my acceptance into the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I took every chance I could to delve into the fantasy world of wizards, spells, magic wands, and enchanted castles.

Now I want to talk about it and hear about it from other's who love it just as much, or want to grow to love it as I do! Come join me in a weekly recap of reading with thoughts, ideas, comments, and insights.

I want this to be a conversation, not just me writing, so please participate!

  1. I remember every Sunday night growing up my siblings and I would gather at the foot of my parent's bed and listen to my mother as she read through all 7 Harry Potter books. When we were waiting for a book release, we would re-read all the others.
